Drugstore Haul!

7/22/2015 09:28:00 PM

I apologize for the lack of post but ya girl is busy! But I'm back with a little drugstore haul! There's so many new products out at the drugstore and there were a few that I wanted to try but decided not to this time around. The majority of the products I bought happened to be lip products which I did not mean to do, but there are are a lot of really new ones out at the drugstore right now so I just couldn't help myself!

L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish (L-R): Beach Babe, Craze, & Meadow
The first items I picked up were these L.A. Colors nail polishes. I personally really like this particular brand of nail polish. They're only $1.00 and in my experience they are very opaque and I just love the way they look. They have a wide range of colors so if you're trying to build up your nail polish collection this is really inexpensive way to do so. No matter the brand, nail polishes tend to chip on me pretty easily so I'm not someone who cares if the nail polish is $1.00 or$10.00. I've been wearing the shade Beach Babe for about a week and a half now and I have gotten so many compliments on it. It's a beautiful pale blue. Meadow is a gorgeous mint green with a hint of grey to it. It's a very unique shade but I really like it. And Craze is a really fun confetti like top coat with bright pinks, oranges, yellows, blues, and a few other fun pops of color.
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation--Cocoa
I have heard soooooooo many YouTubers and bloggers absolutely RAVE about this foundation. It has been out for a while now and I'm just now breaking down and buying it. According to the packaging it is a demi-matte finish with a medium but build-able coverage that will supposedly last up to 24 hours. Now, why you would want to wear your makeup for 24 hours is beyond me, but to each it's own. I haven't tried this foundation yet but I'm really excited to see if it is worth the hype. Everyone says it is perfect if you have oily skin so I'm really interested to see how well it works for me. One thing I will say about drugstore foundations is that there isn't enough shades for my brown skinned and darker skinned ladies! I don't know why these drugstore brands think every woman of color is the same default "cocoa" shade but that is so far from the truth! There is a definite need for more shades to compliment every skin tone in the drugstore.
Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain (Top L-R): 05 Honey Love & 01 Nude Chic
I believe these are fairly new to the brand Jordana. You can find Jordana at Walgreen's, I'm not sure where else you can find them I only ever see them at Walgreen's. Anyway, I don't have a lot of chubbie stick lippies like this and so I wanted to try a few more. I was actually quite impressed with these. These are a sheer, yet pigmented lip balm. They're very moisturizing on the lips which I really like. These are perfect for days when I'm going for a minimal makeup look and just want a pop of color on the lips.
Maybelline Color Blur by Lip Studio (Top-Bottom): 35 Plum Please, 50 I Like To Mauve It
These Color Blur lip pencils by Maybelline really shocked me at how amazing they are. I believe the idea is that you apply a little of the color to the center of your lips and you the rubber end to blur the color out. Well, I'm not really here for that and could care less about blurring them out to be honest lol. These are very pigmented and very matte but they feel very light and airy on the lips. Plum Please is my favorite one and I feel like this will be my go to lip color for the fall. I am excited to go back and pick a few more up because the color pay off you get with these is really great.
Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme--04 Lust
Matte liquid lipsticks have been so popular in 2015 so when I found out Milani was jumping in on the trend I got really excited. Milani is one of my favorite drugstore brands. With Milani you get amazing quality products at an affordable price and that's obviously what I'm looking for when I'm at the drugstore. These matte lip creme's did not disappoint. I only picked up one because I had already purchased so many lip products but I think I will be purchasing more of these soon. Of course I went with a brownie, nude shade because if you know me you  know nude lips are BAE. These are extremely pigmented and they smell like cake, which is an added bonus. The consistency of these are very similar to the L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss. Like VERY similar. So if you are a fan of those, you will love these just as much.
Jordana Easy Liner Retractable Pencil For Lips--Coco Loco
I have been wanting a brown lip liner for a while so I immediately decided to check out Jordana to see if they had a brown shade and I was very glad to see that they did. I love Jordana lip liners. They're extremely affordable, pigmented, and creamy. Brown lips are very in right now and paired with a nude lipstick, you can't go wrong!
Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Eyeliner (L-R): Baby's Got Black & Simma Brown Now!
I was in the market for some new basic black and brown eyeliners and I came across these in Target. I have never tried Wet n Wild eyeliners but they swatched very nicely so I feel that they should be just as good as any other eyeliner. I'll let you know how they do!
Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color (Top-Bottom): DJ Doll & Trendscendence
Long story short: I am not a fan. I had high hopes for these but they really let me down. They swatched very splotchy, they weren't pigmented at all, and I just wasn't impressed with the overall quality in the least bit. I will definitely be returning these. Womp womp.

Leave me a comment and let me know what some of your favorite drugstore products are at the moment and check back for another post coming soon!

xoxo!
